Continuing on a recent thread about declining bird populations, I thought this article was of value plus it suggests some things to do to help slow the decline. Plus,I might add, continuing to take pictures of them and not shooting them.
Besides the direct impact of the poisons on all (us included) the poisons are killing off the bugs and other "food chain" creatures in huge numbers, and many birds eat bugs and other small critters. We must change our ways, there is nothing natural about these huge declines, the rising temps, lack of clean water, deforestation/wildfires will only accelerate the process. Most wind turbines I've seen did not move fast enough to be an issue, plus there just aren't that many. As a target gun shooter/airgunner I quit several airgun forums because of the attitude about shooting "pesky" songbirds, as I found the attitude moronic, and is illegal in the US.
