I want to remove some programs, but they are not showing up through Start > Apps. In on cash, I simply deleted it from it's folder on C: Now I want to delete more, but they aren't showing up, PhotomatixPro 5 is one of them. I can run it, but it's not listed in Apps. How can I delete it properly?

Add/Remove Programs (Windows 10 is Settings-Apps)

Other than that, if you deleted the program from the C:\Programs(xx) directories, it's a PITA to clean the registry and all that for broken links. As I'm not a native Windows user, someone might be able to suggest a registry cleaning program if the first suggestion doesn't work.

Assuming you are on a Windows PC try re-installing the application and it might just re-appear in your Add-Remove Programs list in the Control Panel. Uninstalling using the program's uninstaller will remove the application and any remnants from the original install.

I don't have "Add/Remove Programs." I can go to the Control Panel and select "Uninstall or change a program," but Photomatix is not listed. It's the same with "Apps and features." As for the registry, there's no way I'm going to mess with that - and "mess" would be the right word.

Get CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) from Piriform. It's free.
Has a "Registry" tool which will scan the registry for "junk" entries which then can be fixed - (deleted).
Junk would be orphaned file extensions, unresolved references, etc.
I run once a week to keep the registry in shape.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess with the registry manually either... There are registry cleaners out there paid and freeware that will look for broken links and safely clean any artifacts from your system.

Also, there are two directories on a 64-bit Windows system where programs are installed. Inside one of those, the application should be installed along with an uninstall.exe.

C:/
-> Program Files "Used for native 64 bit applications"
-> Program Files (x86) "Used for 32 bit applications"

Revo Uninstaller is a great utility for removing programs -- it'll let you uninstall programs that don't show up under the Windows Apps list. There's a free version, too, but it has limited functionality. The paid version will, indeed, let you force uninstall those "unlisted" programs. Jt's one of those apps that's worth the money.

I still think re-installing the original program and using the resulting uninstall option would be the best bet. I would not use a Registry cleaning program even on your PC and certainly not on mine. It would be far safer to let any orphaned registry entries remain as they are unlikely to cause any problems and an automated registry cleaning program may mess things up worse than before the "cleaning" and may orphan some of the applications that you want to use.

Re-installing an application over artifacts of the same application is not necessarily a better solution than cleaning up those artifacts. It may lead to random errors on the system, or poor applicaton/system performance. Registry cleaning applications that I used years ago when I had Windows systems were safe, effective, and allowed me to see all issues/errors before deleting.

But we all provide advice and opinions, which are all correct from our experiences, and let the OP of a topic decide how to proceed.

However you fix it, I hope you can find resolution.

Yes, the program is there, but it doesn't have an uninstall program with it.

Ah, yes. I had forgotten about that.

It's ironic that I have to install one program to uninstall another - to reclaim disk space.

EDIT: Well, Revouninstaller installed, and it showed the same programs that Apps shows, but not PhotoMatixPro

Some programs hide themselves in the Windows program, and they require a professional to delete them.

Sometimes programs include an uninstaller. Have you looked for one in the folder created for the program?

I'm a big fan of Revo. It does a wonderful job and should be used on all uninstalls. However, frequently it won't find programs that are not listed in the Windows list. But, I haven't used the full paid version.
