Does anyone know that photoshop cs6 stand alone is NOT compatible with Mac OS Catalina? I am reading conflicting things about this issue. I am thinking to buy standalone PS CS6 online, I found on Ebay.
If you are going to move forward with evolving operating systems, Mac or Windows, you might consider moving your editing software with it. Can phones with dials on them still work?
Seriously, the run of CS6 was from about 2012 to 2014. There really are both new and very improved tools in the $10 a month subscription version.

If you are getting new software, why buy something that is no longer supported with upgradesn and from questionable sources (eBay)? That would be completely irrational. You are better off getting the subscription - fresh software, you get a complete editing and image management solution, and it never gets old. Oh, and it's a legit vendor.
The annual report came out. Adobe improved again with revenue at 11 billion. The Creative Cloud part was only 6.5 billion. Renting software at $10 a month must be OK for at least a few people.
CS6 will NOT run on Catalina.

Will your 2019 car run on leaded gasoline?
If I buy a three year old toaster, can I toast bread that I froze in 1999?
Will they take my Kodachrome away if I fit it into the Sony MILC I just bought?
Seriously, you are barking up the wrong tree here, pennywise and pound foolish.
If you're shifting to Catalina, you'll not only be wasting its processing speed but suffering unnecessary crashes and glitches by not updating to the latest version of someone's software. If you're dead broke, use Gimp freeware. If you object to subscriptions, get whatever freestanding version you wish, and hope it's still good when Catalina V2 comes out in a couple of years.
Buying ancient, used software is like buying ancient anything. It may work, but if it doesn't you'll be wishing you'd gotten the current version.

I believe that Catalina will not run 32 bit software, just 64 bit. On my PC, I run CS6 and the 64 bit version of Photoshop and Premiere Pro. But Adobe Audition is 32 bit. Maybe you can find a trial version of CS6 to install and see if it will work. Incidentally I recently tried Adobe CC 2018 and removed it from my Win 10 Pro 64bit computer, preferring CS6.
Thank you all for the enlightenment.

So, what are you planning to do for photo editing software?

You could use leaded gas. I'm sure it will in some way effect performance. Might even do damage to the engine. It would run. You might not like the result.
Toaster.... bread thing. Sure..why not. How does either know what the other has been up-to??

Hi Jbravi,
I'm not here to tell you which software to get but I do caution buying CS6 on eBay. I'd like to get a legal copy of the program myself but all I can find on eBay is programs that are supposed to be new with a serial number. The instructions say the serial number is automatically used during the install so YOU don't have to. I fell for this scam and soon had "nasty grams" from Adobe telling me I had illegal software on my computer. I may have never gotten the message if I had not kept the current version of Bridge but...??!! Anyway, good luck. Take care & ...
Straight, uncompromising response - No, CS6 stopped working when I upgraded to Catalina.
Painful, but true.
I've held one of my older Macs back from MacOS updates just so I could keep my old CS6.
I'm considering trying to partition my new 16" MBP (when it arrives next week) to permit running Mojave. What's the worst that can happen?
I just hate renting my software.
Just be sure that you have the latest malware and virus software installed on your computer before you download anything from ebay. Don't ask , don't tell.

"I just hate renting my software."
Everyday we "rent" coffee, beer and even food. We pay to use it for awhile.
Recently Adobe posted their annual results. Total annual revenue was about $11 billion. $3.6 billion came from the Creative Cloud. Why do so many people chip in their $10 each month for that?
