Shortly after my Wife passed away I released a balloon at her grave with a message attached to it on Mothers Day. I remember looking around the cemetery and was surprised to see several people in different locations watching it. I notice in your photo there is an area above the balloons that caught my eye right away. It reminded me of an eye quietly watching the balloons. Balloons are a great tribute. So are bubbles. Each night, my wife and I go outside and blow bubbles. When I get to Heaven, I expect my son, Brian to say, "Dad, Thanks for all the balloons and bubbles!"
My wife has her tattoo of a heart with wings and our son's name. I have a tattoo of a little boy blowing bubbles in a field of grass with butterflies with his name.
BigCed, and other Ugly Hedge Hoggers, I'm glad you are doing something that lets others know. But don't think of it as a loss. Each day we go though it and struggle with the pain. As we mow through the day, we get one day closer to being with our loved ones.
