.... When I see a supposedly homeless person on the street asking for my hard earned money and they have a dog and are smoking my attitude drops instantly from being helpful to being a sucker if I donate money to that person. If they can afford to feed the dog and smoke cigarettes they sure do not need my money.

Good point. Why are they spending our money on dogs and cigarettes?

Cute. But given the current admin's inability to keep up with the children snatched from their parents at our southern border, why do you think than these incompetents could find the addys for all our native homeless folks? Just askin'....

Incompetents is right - - even with excoriating public scrutiny, they still haven't been able to do anything to correct it...

Similar problems here in UK.......not sure if they are as big a problem as in USA ?

State and public agencies are pretty poor..........People who really do seem to have the skill to deal practically with the problem

are the Salvation Army..........are they a player in USA ?

Oooh, Dennis - - thank you for displaying your obvious hostility - - I don't have to know you at all to see that. You seem to be the aggravated kind of law enforcement who shouldn't be given the authority to enforce laws.

Ellie you say that and again you don't know me. You have absolutely no idea how I assisted homeless people on my own time when I was in law enforcement. When I worked in corrections I assisted inmates as much as I was allowed to do because of rules and regulations in finding jobs, places to stay and so on. You as a Liberal must be all knowing in these things but apparently all does not extend to what I have done. What you actually know about me could be placed on the point of a needle with much room left over.

In reality you don't like me because I served in law enforcement and you assume that law enforcement types are hostile to Left Wingers and of course to black people and other minorities. Come on, fess up. You see just as you feel the need to put me down without knowing anything about me I have the same ability. Is what I am saying true. Hell, who knows. But in your world that doesn't matter does it? It is only your ability to follow the Socialist Democratic agenda to put down law enforcement.

Notice you don't comment on what I have posted. You attack me personally. Thank you so much for revealing your true self.

Dennis

yes - but in a future time at the price of personal liberty, cars will not start without an active license (or some other authorization scheme). From a tech point of view I am sure we are already there. And even in today's age, things can be done without lengthy prison - impound the car for example from repeat offenders. I'm sure there are many creative solutions, we have just chosen to not attempt them.

Things can be done without lengthy prison. Hmmmm. Uh huh. I worked 20 years in a state prison. Inmates were murdered in my housing unit which was administrative segregation. Inmates have been murdered in other non maximum security prisons as well. If these inmates do this while in prison then what do you think they will do if left on the outside. With respect you like most people have absolutely no understanding of inmates and their thoughts. When you go to a cops and robbers movie and root for the police to get there in time to help a victim just remember that inmates root for the bad guy to win. Their mentality is totally different from yours and mine.
