I was raised on a dairy farm that besides milking cows we also farmed corn and soybeans. I have heard corn making sounds. My dad told me it was sounds of the plant growing - it was kind of a squeeky-stretching sort of sound. I could usually hear it on hot, humid evenings/nights. NO! Don't read this book, it is terrible, filled with crazy talk! Next they will find that chapter on George Washington Carver where he tells us (and the US Senate) that he learned the language of plants from the People of the Fay. Fairies in deed!
