I can blur the background more but thinking you still wanted to recognize your home atmosphere.

The couch is not really level. It would just need a minor adjustment.
Let's hope the OP's wife isn't a photo judge lol...

I am rather embarassed to ask, but have no choice. My wife wants to give this photo framed as a gift to the dog trainer (amateur and friend) that trained these dogs, and took this picture. I wanted to blur the background, but can not get the desired result in Luminar 4, and have mostly forgotten how to use the latest copy I have of PS v. 5. If anyone can blur the background and repost this, I would be eternally grateful! I read here every day, but my days of standing in the cold/rain/wind/sun/heat are mostly behind me, so I don't post my pictures of the view out the stateroom window all that much.
Thanks to all. I really like the comments and you all provide me with much entertainment and training.

Training....what training??? You have animals sitting all over your furniture. I would demand a refund.

Haha. I was looking a one of the pp pics & enjoying how they got the dogs hold their poses for the pics.
love the dogs. i have two and would love to go to three, but my wife says NO
Just had a quick go at it. Cropped in order to level the counter/couch. created a selection and then applied a Gaussian blur. Not great but....
So this is what I came up with. I used a program called Photoscape (free). Clicked on Tools, Effect Brush, Blur-High. I ran over the background several times holding down the left mouse button and releasing it and holding it down again. This is not a complete re-do. You would probably have to go over it again in the tight spots to get it perfect. I just wanted to show you what it can do and figured you could test it out on your own. This program is menu driven and easy to use. If you choose to download it, be sure and run your anti-virus after install, just to be safe. Other than that, this is my go-to program for most of my photo processing. Good luck!
send me your e mail I'll do it for you Mike MY e mail mdimatteo1@gmail.com it looks like someone did it for you ok cool I was just going to remove the back ground
