Took a drive yesterday, and passed through the little town of Nicasio. Although it was mid-day, the scattered clouds made for great light.
Nice shots. The water looks really low. Are they experiencing a drought?

The winter rains have yet to come. California is recovering from a years-long drought, but the levels are normally low this time of year. Running down the levels gives the winter rains somewhere to go, reducing the probability of flooding. Like most lakes in California, this one was created by damming up drainage and letting the riverbeds fill with water. The photos show one finger of a larger lake.
Excellent. #1 perfect. #2 makes me want to pull back the sides of the frame to see more.
I used to see lots of birds in the Nicasio ponds!
Great shots of an area I remember well and usually looking just like that.
