Nice shot.
I have a hobby of locating places in photos on Google Maps.
I found the spot this was taken. Bridge at San Marcos Pass.

Thanks for looking Clark, and kind words, and yes, there is a faint rainbow just above center and left of the bridge. Glad you liked it. It goes over old Stagecoach rd, which you can see below the bridge when downloaded. There is an area (and more) famous restaurant on the stage road. You can see it in my other post at https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-621347-1.html.

Thanks for looking, Bob. I also locate areas by photos, that I would like to visit and keep a list by state, city or county and the name of the interesting point. Your link is almost exactly where I stood.

I also see you are interested in Monarchs. I also posted about the grove in Pismo Beach here https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-621355-1.html

If you use Google Earth, you can place markers wherever you like and save them by state or what ever you wish.

You could be right. I knew there was a fire down there but not exactly where.

I drove across that bridge and then turn right on the old stagecoach road which goes up to the Cold Creek tavern which is another good spot to bikers bar and a great restaurant in the local area I posted some photos of it here today also,. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-621347-1.html

Cave fire closed 154 indefinitely with rock slides from rain that helped contain the fire though it is only 70% contained. Also most of the guard rails are gone. Cold Springs Tavern is on other side of pass but you can’t get there. It has great food , even better atmosphere as I believe it’s the oldest restaurant in ca. Was a stage coach stop. If you come on weekends they grill tri-tip outside for about $10 for a sandwich and usually have live music.

Thanks for looking Ednsb.... So the fire has the complete area blocked and you cannot get into the restaurant or can you still go up one I want to come back on the San Marcos road instead of going north out of town.

that's a great restaurant you're correct. Great atmosphere weekends it's packed with a lot of bikers and everything else and you may have to walk a mile or two to get to it. We've been there a couple of times both times through the week not on weekends.

A very nice capture of that beautiful bridge!

There is a very similar occurrence in Colorado, near Redcliff, where US-24 crosses the Eagle River and the road into Redcliff. You can see it here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/7759695456/in/album-72157631018571878/ and here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/7759716346/in/album-72157631018571878/,
