Same here in Georgia. But, distracted driving is still a cause of accidents. I have my smart phone set for no notifications or calls while I’m driving. It replies with a message that I’m driving.

All of the above require you to take your eyes off the road to be sure your touch panel settings are correct. Let’s go back to using analog temperature sliders, mechanical push buttons, etc. so you don’t have to have a visual display to check if your settings are being made and are what you want.

All I do is press a button on my steering wheel and then use voice commands for all of the above. In addition to using voice for radio stations, I can also select song, artist, album, or genre from an SD card. It is in a Jeep, but I imagine it is pretty common today.
Last week a friend of mine got an Acura RDX with a heads up display.
Going forward makes more sense than going backwards. IMHO
