Get your terms and definitions right. If you don’t know anything about firearms I suggest reading up.

Don’t just repeat the lies your handlers feed you.

Of course, reading up will expose your handlers as liars.

Well, maybe your handler, the NRA, can send me some literature. I'm sure they'll tell me that "guns don't kill people, people kill other people."

The only thing I need to know about firearms is that they can be used to kill many innocent people in an instant. As I said in another response, I'm not for advocating ALL firearms be banned, just the ones that are capable of massive casualties in a mere matter of seconds. Sounds like a reasonable compromise to me.

I like what you wrote better than what I wrote.

Also, lie #1 : Some weapon exists that is good for self-defense (and maybe squirrel hunting too) but can't harm innocent bystanders.

They can be used to kill many nasty people also.
It depends on the one(s) using the guns.

I suppose we all should go back to flintlocks.

There are dozens of things you need to know about firearms before anything you say would be reasonable. Your idea of a reasonable compromise has no reason in it.

Give me "one" example of what I need to know about firearms that's going to give me an "aha" moment.

Too much work. But here's a small effort: the ammunition used in an AR-15 (or M-16) is 5.56x45mm NATO (which is almost the same as .223 Remington originally designed to hunt small varmints like prairie dogs) which is one of the lowest powered center-fire cartridges ever developed. If you learned everything you know about guns from the TV news where it is constantly called "high-powered" you might think it's good to hunt elephants or armored cars. In many states, it is too small to be legal to hunt deer with. Darn those prepositions.

A small factoid, I don't expect you to be too impressed just by that. I have no way of knowing exactly what holes exist in your knowledge. Please keep in mind I have dozens more where that came from. Learning is your responsibility.

No I haven't. It's not the 1800's where I have to go off and shoot an animal to survive. Just not in to killing things. any form of life.

And your comment about an over intrusive government? So, you think you need a gun so you will be able to "protect" yourself if the government comes after you? Good luck!

I do not hunt for sport but I don’t like coyotes killing young calves or horses. I will shoot them instead of letting them kill my livestock.

I don’t like wild hogs tearing up my pastures because it starves the livestock. I will shoot wild hogs.

About 2 weeks ago I got bit by a copperhead. I had to spend the night in the hospital. That snake bite cost me about $2800 not to mention the pain. Before I went to the hospital I killed the snake.

No sport!

So you're implying that AR-15 ammunition is too small to hunt elephants and armored cars? What's this got to do with killing human beings? Are you saying AR-15's don't kill people?

Well, that certainly was an "aha" moment, I must admit. OK, let's just agree to dis-agree. Over and out.

I certainly agree with everything you said. Something tells me you didn't use some automatic type weapon to mow them down. That was my only point in this type of string. Sorry to hear about your copperhead snake bite.

When you read and study, you’ll find millions protect themselves every year with firearms. Far more than the few bad guys who use them illegally.
