Thanks. I did it as a black and white also and entered in my camera clubs monthly competition. The judge said it would be better if it was a skiff. Well I don’t paddle a skiff!
Sometimes, not correct that, most times I wonder what the heck those judges were thinking, especially when I hear comments like that. Tim

Yep, I understand that it’s subjective and with a single judge you never know what they’re gonna like. I’ve had two judges tell me I should crop shots differently and afterwards have people tell me not to change the crop, (which in neither case was I gonna change). I just started entering so I can get some real peer review instead just friends and family gushing over my work.
Is it that the log will collapse on the chain bar without support?
Right on, asymptotic. You cut from the bottom up. Some people are against this but look closely. Due to high winds the tree toppled over and look closely at the newborn trees have been touched, squashed by the fallen tree. True this is nature but by cutting up the fallen tree we can help the young to continue their lives
From my archives................a hoarfrost shot; a winter sunset; first snowfall of the season at Crater Lake Nat Pk; Mount St Helens blast zone; two shots from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
