Yesterday I went to Pearl Harbor because on of the Navy’s newest amphibious landing craft ships the “BOXER” was in port .., with a deck full of Osprey and Jump Jets ...as well as large hover craft down below .. I wanted to take some pics of her as this was a rare port calling ..
Those pics will be posted later .., as part of my tour I of course went to the Arizona Memorial and it was there , with tears streaming down my face , I took the shot you see.
I get very emotional when I’m on the Memorial .., always have , but yesterday was over the top ..,, I guess our Veteran son who flew in from AZ .., and wanted to see the Boxer .., added to the emotion ..
Punch Bowl of the Pacific is my other favorite place ... I am able to handle it as I walk a different pattern each time .., stopping to talk to as many fallen soldiers as I can .., thanking them for their sacrifice ..
Enjoy my rendition of The Battleship Missouri a proud symbol War and Peace ..

Over-processed but I like it.
Thank you for sharing. I look forward to see your other images.
I understand your emotions at the memorial. I get the same feeling when in DC at the Viet Nam memorial...

A very nice photo of a part of American history.
I was in the Marines 60-67. I seem to remember an LPH(Landing Platform Helicopter) called the Boxer. I was on that ship during the Cuban Crisis and from that ship to Gitmo.
Great shot of the Big Mo--I am an almost 96 yr old vet of WW2--I was stationed in Waipahu and Ft Ruger 1943-46 artillery defenses--went back in 1984 and did much the same tour as you did--very emotional at the Arizona--and Punch Bowl----goods luck ---ex staff sgt Herb Myles
