I have been waiting for the Mark V to be released, but I wonder whether I should stop waiting and buy a Sony RX 10 IV. I am looking for "Ugly" suggestions.

Buy the one you can buy today. As soon as the V makes it to the stores, you'll just start worrying about the VI coming out next year that will be better than the current version.
I married my wife thinking I’d make the switch when a better one came along. There is no one better. I think she’s still looking, though.

Cars, cameras, smart phones, TV's, ... are always "coming out" with the next version. If ownership of the current version satisfies your needs, settle and be happy.

Double post. Sorry

The RX10iv is the best of all previous models. The previous one, I have been told, had complaints about focusing, and model #4 corrected that issue. Sony is known for releasing new cameras at a fast rate. Especially, the RX100 and a6000 series. You might be able to get model #5, perhaps next year? And the new features it offers, may not be something you need or want. I say get the RX10iv. It's a superb camera that you can own for years to come.
My thoughts are, if you wait until the v comes to market, you can save on the iv. I have not regretted for one minute selling my Canon equipment for this camera.

Sweet answer--I like it. Should have saved it for February 14.

I've own the RX10 III & IV. Both great cameras! I'm sure the V, VI, VII... will continue to carry the RX10 banner with pride.

The latter is a scenario where you’ll always be second guessing yourself. Go for it!
I've seen speculation that since Sony just released the first firmware update for the M4, it may be a while before there is a M5. In fact, it's possible that instead of going to a M5, they could release a whole new model camera to replace the RX10.
If you're always waiting for the next, you will never buy the now LOL
I have a Nikon p1000 and did extensive research on the Sony RX10 IV. Based on comments from UglyHedgehog members and the cameras capabilities I decided to add to my equipment with the Sony....great camera that has proven results...don't know what the results of the Mark V will be or when it will be here.
