Yes I've tried searching archive ,couldn't find anything so here goes ,with price drops I have decided to go to Sony , does anyone have experience with the a7iii in frigid temps that can comment . My 7D2 has worked flawlessly in the winter cold but it's time to upgrade!

I can’t speak for the A7III, but I’ve had both my A6000 and A6300 out in some pretty cold conditions and had no operational issues due to the cold. Just be sure to let the camera warm up slowly, preferably in the backpack or whatever you use to transport your cameras.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by cold. I used my A7III and A9 in a UK winter without issue.

I've used all sorts of cameras in cold weather - teens or lower. I wouldn't leave the camera hanging around my neck for hours, unless it was under my jacket. The owner's manual will give you the operating range of temperatures. You've seen pictures of Antarctica, right? Those were taken with cameras.

The weak link in most cases is the battery. Even the FZ100 battery (in the A7Riii) will go dead if the temperature is cold enough. At -10F, the battery should last about 20 minutes or so

The key is effective battery management. Keep a spare battery in a pocket close to your body to warm up, and switch them when the camera battery goes down. As it warms up, the battery will regain its charge, so you can just keep switching them.

When you get back indoors, leave the camera in the bag while it warms up. The weatherproofing is about average, but even if it were amazing, you still don't want condensation dripping all over the exposed parts of your camera.

I have used my a6000 without a problem. I have also used my 99ii without a problem. I always keep spare battery in my shirt pocket. The a99ii uses a bit more power so in the cold I ad the twin battery vertical unit to give me more shooting time. This will be my first winter using my a7iii. I don’t expect any problems.

I was trying to do some night shots last winter on an around 0 f, and the batteries drained very quickly, had to keep a set in my pocket and swap out. They really didn't drain, as they would have power when warmed up.

I'v used the A7 III for astrophotography down to -20C with no problems; however, batteries don't last quite as long at low, low temps.

Used my A6000 the other night, it was 12 degrees Fahrenheit. No negative impacts or issues.
