It is a tradition, and a lot of the people going on that day are not due hard photographers. The "season" for photo bums is really from about Thanksgiving through January 15 - depending upon the weather. The warmer the weather, the fewer the number of eagles gravitating there, it seems.
I may not have read the original post but where is this dam. I just got back from Minnesota where they have a lot of bald eagles and there's a rescue center in a town called Wabasha, Where I learned outside of Alaska Minnesota has the largest number of bald eagles in the US. And I've seen many on the Mississippi river separating Minnesota from Wisconsin dooont yaaaaa knoooow lol. I was born there so I can make fun of them right?
