Any UHH'er have or know of the instillation procedure for this problem? A number of years ago, a similar
problem with Win.7 was solved & appreciated.
I use a Nikon Coolscan V occasionally at work with my Win 10 laptop. The answer to getting the scanner to work in a word is VueScan.

The Windows 7 solution is to get it to run using the Windows Vista drivers.
Windows 7: Getting your Nikon Coolscan to work on W7 x64 It includes steps for Windows 10.
Since I got it running I have never had a problem. I tried VueScan but the NikonScan software is much better for my particular scanner.
Thanx, will give it a try.
I used mine with Win 7 for years. It worked pretty well, although some of the capabilities of the software didn't work. That was OK. My scanner actually died a second death, so I finally updated to Win 10 and a new scanner (that doesn't compare!). If someone can come up with a Win 10 work-around, I'll get the scanner fixed again!
It says to UNCHECK the Nikon 9000. Does that mean this install set-up won't work with the 9000?

The reason you uncheck this box for all scanners listed is that you already updated the driver and you do not want the Nikon scan to replace it with the old one as it installs. I believe there is a different driver for the Nikon 9000. I did not look into it as I have the 5000.
