I live about 45 minutes from GNP, and the Avalanche Lake hike is one of my favorites. The lighting you present is truly artistic, and I really like the mood of the sitting hiker you captured. See you again soon!

Really nice photos of a beautiful place. Especially like the photo with the hiker at the lake edge. Great composition and detail.

All are wonderful shots but I loved the one with the guy sitting on a rock between the trees.
Keep on Shooting, David

Glacier NP is my #1 favorite NP to visit. There is such a large variety of beautiful hikes and such iconic vistas. Each time we go there, it always different. These images are from the Avalanche lake area in Aug 2018. We started out there early in the early morning, so we had some of the benefit of some early morning light. The difficulty of the entire trip was the smoky haze due to the west coast fires. At times, the visibility was only a couple of miles, as compared to the normally ultra clear air. But the haze did provide some interesting photo opportunities. One, it made early morning sun rays much more prominent.

We got out to the lake early before most people were out there and experienced some forest drama. A couple fishing, said there was a small grizzly in the area. A couple of minutes later a doe came running out of the woods. She was obviously very nervous and on full alert but didn't seem to care about us at all. She just kept watching into the woods, we assumed, for the grizzly. However, a few minutes later we saw the focus of her attention. She got separated from her fawn while a small bear was running around the area. She finally found her fawn and they left the area, unharmed. So it ended with a happy ending.

photo #4 reminds me of a slot canyon before it dried up, by the contours of the rocks.

I love the set and I think that one of the "other hiker" is my favorite. All the shots are beautiful though and well worth the time to download a allow the eye to wander through them.
