We missed the best color by about a week but had some good luck in spots. Here are some images of the Mingus Mill outside of Cherokee, NC. All images were taken with a Canon 5D IV and 24-105 f 4 kit lens. ISO 100 was used with various shutter speed, most of which were in 1/5 to 1 second range to maximize depth of field.
Walk into the mill area. The only folks around at 9 AM were other photographers.

Very nice, makes me wish we had been there
Excellent series and variety!!
Nice images, James. When I swung by Mingus, the area was mobbed. Shoulda got there sooner.
I visited that mill very early in the morning and stayed awhile. Got to watch the guy change the sluce to direct the water and start the mill. Nice images.
