Rather than a vote for Cinton, it was, i'm afraid, a vote against Trump.

I think that for many of us on both sides of the aisle that is what this next election will come to, I know that there are those on your side of the aisle that think that republicans are either stupid or simply just greedy bastards, it is hardly different than how many on our side of the aisle feel that there are many within your voting rolls who just want whatever the government will give them at the expense of others.

Personally I believe that were a Bernie or Warren to get into office that they would reek havoc on our economy and immediately move us into a strong recession. You can't just double the federal budget and increase taxes to pay for it without hurting the economy, nor can you just indiscriminately double the min wage.

In all fairness the corporate taxes in my mind should not be increased, just the opposite should occur, they should be done completely away with and replaced with a VAT tax, it would be fairer and more transparent and no one would be able to lobby for the favor that the large corps today lobby for.

How about when Bill Clinton, the consummate draft dodger, when he ran twice? I’m trying to determine if you had then same feelings towards him as you do for Trump regarding the draft.

I really don't like draft dodgers. I graduated from high school in 1963. Many of my classmates were drafted or joined one service or another. I didn't know anyone who actually wanted to fight, but they went from a sense of duty and because their Country called them. I am sure that is why you went.

Why would that be on just the draft issue. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

About a year ago, I heard a quote from Trump, when asked if he was going to Vietnam in the 60, he answered: "no, I'm not stupid". I don't remember where the quote came from, so don't ask, but I believe it.

It wasn’t just student deferments. Here’s what happened and what made him a draft dodger. Do some research about him and the ROTC he signed up for to avoid the draft and later, when his draft number was high enough to keep him out he reneged.

Also, check on Biden’s 5 deferments.

Like I said earlier, I certainly would not disparage any one's service, in fact I honor it, having said that, the Vietnam war was an elitist war, we had no business being there and it cost some 58,000 American lives and the lives of countless Vietnamese, I can't really hold a grudge against those that chose not to go, not sure that because the country calls is reason enough to lay down one's life especially when we know that it is in the service of a misguided national policy put forward by a hand full of men and women who were asked to sacrifice nothing.

I think you heard that as a misquote by Rachel.
