I chatted her up after giving her a dollar ... she told me in her younger years she used to be a model.

Here is a pose she struck for me.

They're both interesting, but the top one implies a lot about her present situation.

Regardless of the location, background, lighting, the second one captures a lovely picture.
Especially with your comment that she was a model in another life.
Your camera aimed at her, perhaps brought back memories for her and she is reliving the time.
We all live in our mind to a certain extent as we get older.
I'd crop it heavily at the armrests on her chair and give her a copy.

I have to say, of all the photos I have viewed on the HOG, this one really stuck a cord with me. You really captured the essence of life and growing old. I totally agree with the comment above by TonyP, you may have brought back very fond memories to this woman. Great job, keep on shooting.

Thanks for the comment, Joe. I know what you mean. Every once in awhile I see a capture that "grabs" me. Most times I don't know why, just that there is something about it that moves me. Again, thanks.

The DDL reveals the pathos of this image - very moving and very well done.

Wow, simply composition; but really powerful image. Well done.
