Hunt's is my go-to, not only because it is local, but also because they are very knowledgable, helpful, and competitively priced. What you want in a brick and mortar. I would only assume that as a 'net or phone-in order you'd get the same service.

I'm pleased, but not at all surprised, at all the love for this shop. They do a real service to the photographic community, as well as being reliable, honest, and low-cost. They have several locations in New England, and all of them are staffed by knowledgeable and helpful people. Visiting any of their stores is a real pleasure.

Hunt Photo is an excellent store in my opinion. I have purchased all of my gear from them. No regrets.
Their Melrose store is much larger than their satellite stores and has a huge inventory of product. I plan to buy some sort of macro lens for either my Nikon D750 or Fuji X-T2. I will go to Hunts because I know they will have or can get what I want. ~FiddleMaker

The Melrose, MA Hunt's Camera Store is my favorite store in the world. It was my Dad's too, a professional photographer from way back. If I suddenly came into a lot of money I'd run there and be like a kid in a candy shop!

I have been to their Melrose store, which I believe is the principal Massachusetts store in the chain, last June during some big multi-vendor store special. Though they didn’t advertise one item I was looking for as a brand that was "on sale" nor have it on display, they had one, a Rokinon 24 mm Tilt-Shift lens in stock and sold it to me with the same discount as was given for their featured products that day.

I haven’t had any reason yet to go back to them (with respect to the lens itself, fortunately.)

I have done business with Hunt for sixty five years and found them to be good business people. They started as a drug store in Malden Ma, and a few cameras in the corner shelf. Now they have grown to four locations and dropped the drug store. GO WITH HUNT PHOTO!

I dealt with Hunt in the 80's both professionally and personally. I had excellent experiences back then. I can't tell you about any recent personal experiences, but I still here and read good things about them.
