Great series, thanks for posting
I love Bodie in black and white. My first visit there was 60 years ago long before it was a State Park and the road was not nearly as good as now.. That church is one od my favorite subjects.
And the switch to B&W paid off very well!!

No. 1 looks like something right out of an old Clint Eastwood Western movie. It is my favorite. I was impressive that most of those front windows are not broken.
Bodie is a favorite of mine, too.
As to broken windows, maybeeee, that's because nobody LIVES there and it is a far piece on a dirt road that's enough to discourage folks who get off on breaking windows when there are so many easier to reach opportunities. Adding to the trek in from US 395, there aren't many people living near by, and those who do, live a pretty hard working life, which tends to not produce window breaking.
But there are more than a few broken windows in Bodie and they're probably a result of the harsh environment.
Come visit the Eastern Sierra, US 395 is a very scenic Highway North to South. You'll see all your heroes, from Rowdy Yates, Earlier day Dirty Harry's, to Gene Autry, and all the Alabama Hills gang. Stop in teh Movie Museum in Bishop.

The movie museum is in Lone Pine and worth a visit.

Thanks y’all. I love the Eastern Sierra. Sometimes I leave Bakersfield at 3 am and shoot in the Alabama Hills at sunrise. Breakfast at the Mt Whitney restaurant and home before noon !
These are neat. The one titled "Creature Comforts" looks like a forensic photo of a crime scene, which adds to its appeal. The choice of b/w is perfect. You must have been freezing.

My wife and we’re not prepared for such a drastic temperature change. No gloves. I ran around quickly, no time to set up the tripod so I shot hand held and got out as soon as possible. We were frozen solid !!!

I'm sure your wife was thrilled with your need to take photos...

She’s a trooper. Going on 47 married years, she knows and supports my passions.

Spent the weekend in the Eastern Sierra catching some late color. Decided to go up to Bodie on Sunday. Front came through overnight. It was 19 degrees there after 84 in Bishop the day before. Got inspired by the cold and grey to switch to black and white.
Very Nice B&W Photography.
Bodie hasn't changed at all in the previous times we have visited,,,
It must be due to the altitude-high desert temperatures
Nice photos in black and white. Very dramatic..
Nice captures. I really like Bodie

I have enjoyed visits to Bodie. Your well done captures of this ghost town brought memories. Thanks, rspmd.
