Have you ever watched a recorded NFL game in the condensed version - I think it's on NFL Network and only takes an hour, including commercials. It's very disconcerting

Also, at any given time there is nothing of interest to me.

Surely my time can be better spent.

I suspect that something is wrong with me.

Thank goodness for some productive and enjoyable hobbies.

switched to YouTube TV about 7 months ago. Very satisfied, all local channels except PBS, and if you are into sports it provides an abundant assortment. Provides a library where you can record shows to no limit and they stay there for 9 months at no xtra charge. You can also put it on a laptop or tablet. No shopping channels, 49.95 per month.

Been paying $180/month for a long time now. Want to get off this expensive form of entertainment.

Would like to know if any of you people know how I can use just my internet to get most if not all my major networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox etc over the internet? I also enjoy sports from Fox, ESPN, etc.... Would also like to know if anyone knows how to maybe use a dedicated PC as a DVR so that I can pre-record my favorites and watch later etc.... So even if I have to pay $10-$20 a month for some different streaming services, that's ok as long as I can do a lot better than what I'm doing now.

Anyone???

I went to ROKU Streaming Stick (got it at Best Buy for $59.00, and got Hulu + live TV for $45.00 per month. Will never have cable tv again. ROKU attaches to back of TV, no other device needed.

I love paying all that money and having over a third of the air time devoted to commercials. How smart am I !

Tape an hour show and than skip through the commercials and check the time...

We love watching recorded national news (about 15 minutes worth of real news) and shows like "Americas Got Talent" have about 30 minutes of actual talent in a 2-hour time sink.

I hare paying almost $200 for TV and internet and almost $200 for 4 lines of phone. When I retire I think I will become a hermit... I can still read!

LOL! A good break would be a few cold days in Ogunquit and a shore walk to Perkins Cove for lunch!

Unfortunately, TV stations are starting to charge for Internet access. I think CBS calls it All Access. it's not much per month, but it all adds up: Adobe, Acorn, Hulu, Tivo, HBO. Those $5.00 - $10 monthly charges add up to hundreds per year.

I pay $168/month for TV, phone, and computer, and that's as low as I can go. TV is too educational and entertaining for me to give up. I keep reading articles about "cutting the cable," but you can't do it without giving up what you want to watch.

Call your cable company and tell them your bill is too high. I do that every two years, and they lower it for a year or so. Someone at the local cable office told me to do that. I did the same thing with my car insurance and got a lower rate.

I have a Roku stick, but it keeps telling me to check my cable connection. Stupid Roku! If I didn't have a cable connection, I'd have a black screen. When I do get it to work, it has to stop and reload every few seconds. The problem I've seen with other TV services is that they're limited in what they offer. They'll offer 5,000 channels, but they don't include five that I want. It's the same with XM radio. - 12,000 channels of sports and rap, but not the music I want.

Do you pay sales tax on the $49.95? I do in Washington State.

Three friends switched to YouTube TV and are happy. I’m thinking of doing the same and cutting Spectrum.

Same here back around 2005 - 2008. Then I went to DISH for two years and when I came back to Spectrum, I got the 3-way bundle for $100/mo for a year. Then it went to $150 and kept going up - for six years. My main beef with Spectrum is they don't reward loyalty, but if you stop service, they give you a discount to return. An offer came to me only three weeks after I went with You-Tube TV!

Has anyone used Stunner tv? You buy a box for about $400.00 one time and 180.00 per year and it has everything. that's a saving of about 980.00 per yr over Spectrum after paying for internet, looking into it.

That looks like it's just one of those "boost" devices and a "help" desk - it is not a streaming service with tv programs. I'd stay away! From their site: StunnerTV is an I.T. Support Service which provides the end user the best possible tools to manage their media player. StunnerTV does not guarantee any content, access to content, or the availability of any content. StunnerTV will help you get the most of your device, assist you through local networking issues, provide guidance to finding the best sources.
