you guys are amazing...
Welcome to our new friends who want to take up the challenge.

MG..you rock me with your morning start...I have always felt that hosts should have the luxury of posting all day long....hope you do

ANNETTE dang girl...sorry to hear you needed to be hospitalized...now I think your meds must have kicked in when you sent me the message about never seeing a calendar...I sure hope you feel better real soon.

thats a fabulous picture, a lot of blue going on, I have one suggestion to make it even better "I think" is to straighten the horizon, do you know how to do that?

Pat - beautiful - love the lighthouse! and love the shadows!

I really enjoy shooting landscapes. I find myself looking for possibilities while driving, most of the time. The trouble is, when I see one I like, I may be a mile up the road from the spot, and then have to find a place to make a u-turn to get back. My wife has a great eye for color and composition, but on a long trip, she tends to spend a lot of time on her I-pad. When I bought it for her birthday, I wasn't sure how much she would like it. She takes it to bed with her and what does that say about how exciting I am? Well after 58 years, I can understand. Anyway, here are a few landscapes.

Ouch - sounds a tad painful - so hoping it all goes okay and that you are soon back here. Dont think you need a licence to dive - but ought to get your PADI first!! I did it to 40 m - absolutely amazing under the sea - so peaceful....and beautiful...

Would that we all could be treated with such love and respect on our final journey. Alas not so.... but wonderful to hear it is possible in some places still.... R I P.

I posted this last night but for those who missed it I'm reposting what I posted last night. Thanks to all those who have been concerned about my absence..hopefully Ill be back to the forum soon.
As many of you know we lost our Nana on 9/11...she was 91 years old. I am in the midst of burying her on the church property that she was a member of. Here in Alaska we can make our loved ones coffin...and dig the grave..and even transport the body...so it is a family affair. The family being directly involved in a last act of love for our dear nana..she was 91 years old. She died at peace and without un needed drugs clouding her mind, she was not starved or dehydrated when she died...we fought to be able to allow her to pass from this world in Gods own time even though the Doctors wanted us to rush her along. I wont go into the nightmarish problems we had with the medical community. I could write a book on that. Our Nana will be buried tuesday, layed into the earth by the hands of her sons and grandsons...dressed by her daughters and grandaughters, lovingly cared for even in her death. A death she was not afraid of. May she rest in the arms of her Lord. May her soul be blessed and may all of us be comforted by the same merciful God in heaven.
I posted this last night but for those who missed ... (show quote)

It was a tad sad, but still, as long as he recovers - that will be the main thing. Cavendish was here.... so not all lost.. Am adding one shot of the peloton coming out of Barnstaple (see our church in background) as it is sort of landscape.... Country very green - all that rain this summer....

A few of mine...shot from the terrace of our condo. I'm a sucker for sunsets unlike the Roadrunner, who gets up before dawn, and is off with his Canon after 2 or 3 cups of coffee...so who gets the 'worm'? heh heh, no prizes for guessing !!

Beautiful and Awesome!!!
