Found this Anhinga in an unusual (at least to me) pose. I am learning how beautiful these birds are. It's much better using Download. Look at that foot!

Nicely done. How did you get him to sit still long enough to get the pics??

Not many people photo this bird. You nicely captured this shot. These birds are common in Florida where one often sees them standing with their wings open to dry after trolling under water for fish. We normally call them by their formal genus name -- Anhinga.

Yeah, that surprised me too. Actually got several shots. I'm glad you liked the photo, thanks.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of them here since we decided to winter in Florida this year. Mostly I see them with their wings spread out drying after a fishing expedition. I thought this was a nice, different look. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

I'm working on it. We came home from the wetlands with more than 700 photos yesterday. Including, for the first time, some fairly nice Kingfisher shots!

I'm looking forward to seeing those ... I've found them to be a very difficult bird to catch in flight ... so maybe I'll learn something from you?

I can't wait to see your kingfisher shots. I don't have much luck with them.

Well, I didn't say kingfisher in flight. I got one that will need some work before posting but I'll post a couple not in flight in the mean time. I've even found those difficult.
