Still can give a hoot, I bet!
Perfectly smart bird and beautiful photos.

One of the things that I enjoy about UHH is the frequency of coincidental photo ops.
It happens that Thursday last I was at Downs Park on the bay outside of Annapolis. They do rehab and have a GHO in the same predicament as here.
Got some nice shots but it was edgy so I got away from it.
This is the beginning of their breeding season. Like eagles they will have young in winter so young have many young of year to hunt.
Thanks for your post. Nice shots.

Great shots. I am still looking for my first owl subject. I think I need to visit a wildlife refuge. Thank you for letting me enjoy your photos.
Handsome fellow. Good work on the images as well.
Great pictures, as good as they get! They are real common where I live. This time of year they sit on the power poles in town (edge of town) and call back and forth trying to find a mate. This is their breeding season.
When I let my 3 lb. Yorkie out at night, I go with it and keep an eye out for the owls. I have seen them catch house cats and my dog is smaller than most of the feral cats in the neighborhood.
Also they are super quiet when they fly.
