I thought there was something going on with the sky the other day.

I have shot from the same location and it has a great view of the mountain. Your capture is very good.

I have wondered it Milky Way images could be captured from this location?

Beautiful picture of Rainier!
I had the privilege of summiting Rainier in 1971 under the training of Wlli Unsoeld, first American to transverse the North Face of Mt. Everest; Nawang Gombu, first sherpa to summitt Everest twice; and Jim Whittaker, twin brother to Lou Whittaker, first American to summit Everest.
A "peak life experience".

I can only say "Wow!" Stellar group. As for me, I'd just like to get a decent shot of that sucker.

Thank you for a beautiful color image. Also, thanks for not ruining it with B&W. I had an opportunity to ride in a small plane and approached this mountain at an altitude of about 4000 feet. What a wonderful sight!! Even with my limited expertise, I I got some spectacular shots.

This is a beautiful shot. The clarity and sharpness add to the experience.

Just north of the small town of Eatonville, Wa. is a posted view point of Mt. Rainier. After just some minor tweaking with brightness/contrast and a sky enhancement, this popped out. As much as I am a fan of black & white photography, the colors in this photo are simply too commanding. Comments are always welcome. Ken

Really great photo. I was out there in 1960 with a Sears Tower rangefinder 35mm camera and got a lot of breathtaking photos of Mt. Baker, Shuksan & Table Rock. Memorable experience. Wish I had the camera I have today. The attached image was taken using high speed Ektachrome. There is a little color shift from the almost 60 years age. That picture was taken in July 1960 from Artist Point.

Ok... this isn't the first or second time you've commented on my or someone else's "ruined" photographs. I don't ruin my color photographs by the black & white conversion nor does anyone else. Yes, I know I ask for comments, but what I'm hoping for is either a thumbs up or some form of constructive criticism that will help me to become better as a photographer. Simply saying a color photograph is ruined by the conversion is just a kinder way of saying b&w photos are crap. There are better ways of expressing your thoughts about color vs. black & white other than saying its ruined. I'm sorry for you limited and sub-elementary understanding of stating your thoughts.

Even tho your photo has some milage on it, it's still a beautiful mountain to photograph. Thanks for sharing. Ken

Great shot. I agree that it is short of perfection only by the lack of a few nice clouds.

I may be able to "paste" in some clouds from another photo. We'll see. Thank you!
