this is one of those mental mastrabation question. I use to see that same question about rifles and handguns. which ever your choice, your usage will controlled by it's abilities and limitations.

A take off on the question "Your Favorite Camera" You can only have one camera, you can all the lenses you want to go with that camera. Money is no problem. Remember this camera is the only one you can have for the rest of your life. Something happens to the camera, no replacement.

After 30 years of using two cameras in tandem I now only own one - a Sony A7R4. This camera is so versatile I doubt I will go back to owning two cameras. If I do, the second will probably be another A7R4, though an A9II would be tempting.

So the camera you used in 1970 you should still be using? It is harder to get film these days and harder to find a good lab to do the developing.

Camera technology improves every year. Even the DSLR you bought back in 2003 is a bit dated by now and could use an upgrade.

The OP amply asked the question which camera would one chose to use exclusively for the rest of one’s life.
Contribute if you want, but don’t make it more complicated with profound and unwarranted analysis.

It hasn't been developed yet, and probably won't be.

This is something that I can't really get my arms around. I should probably choose a top of the line Nikon digital, but my heart says a Leica or Hasselblad.

If the camera is broken and can not be repaired or the repair cost is higher than buying an exact replacement would you allow buying the replacement? If not it's all about finding the camera that is likely to last the longest.
