More great shots. I forgot on the previous post. The intensity of faces especially on the beam is amazing. keep it up. Thanks

Not to be nit picky but to my eye these seem strange and I think it's because they're not profiles they are head-toe (or vise-versa). I shoot a lot of gymnastics professionally and most people are going to have a hard time getting good shots from the position that you're shooting from.

I mainly cover the floor routine and I literally am walking during the entire 90+/- second display because I want to be in the opposite corner than the two that she is using for that tumbling pass so that I can get a set of her profile in those photos. In my experience "momma" doesn't like to see her girl running away from or directly towards the camera because it's not as flattering. It does not show their form/technique as well when performing required and optional tumbling skills.

Now I can assure you that I love breaking the rules and getting photos that aren't the dyed-in-the-wool cliche images you see every four years when the Olympics are going on. So if these are your daughter or her teammates then full speed ahead but these aren't what SI editors will pay for.

If you look close in that first photo there's a white cloud arching around her. That's the chalk streaming off of her hands because she is moving that fast! I had to shoot these at 1/1500th SS to keep the motion blur out of these vault warm-up pics.

Thanks and just my two cents k?

Even though jcspics doesn't think so, I think these are great shots. Thanks
