Good shot Muddyvalley!
It is impressive, how your optics handled the almost direct sun.
Happy shooting!

Thank you everyone for the positive comments! I appreciate it very much. Last year it was raining & the wind blew all the leaves off. This next photo was the year before. Less leaves on the tree & more on the ground & a better sun star. In a year or two I'll get everything right. f/16, not f/11. I think I like this year's 2019 photo better.

I saw this pic through "newest pictures" link, so then I went to your opening photo Both are breathtaking and exactly the kind of photo I love to shoot in autumn. If I had your view, I'd never leave home!

Thank you very much Linda. (I rarely do, and my bedroom is only a few feet from the front door. :-)) I was not aware that an added photo would show up in the "newest pictures" link.

Yes, any photos posted in the sections to which you're subscribed. If you view newest pictures while not logged in, you'll only see photos from the sections that are auto-subscriptions, including contests/challenges, main discussion, analysis and Gallery.

The only exception is photos hot linked from other sites, like Flickr. Those don't show up at all unless you click on the topic.

Thank you Merry. It doesn't happen every year & it is always fleeting. I was luck to capture it. Of course the view is always there, maybe not as colorful.
