How can Walmart sell a Tamron 35-150 lens about $100 less than B&H?
I found Tri-State Camera via Walmart for $100 less ("Only one left. Hurry!"), but the warranty may not be U.S.

And Beach had for $799, same as B&H. Always good to read the fine print
A lens that is significantly cheaper that the B&H price is grey market or a refurb. I have purchased Nikon refurb lenses with no issues. If it is refurbed by other than the manufacturer then all bets are off. Read the fine print.
Personally, I don't like buying expensive items from Wal-mart. B&H and Adorama have very good customer service. Adorama replaced a used lens after about 4 months. Absolutely no hassle.

I have had things replaced from both B&H and Adorama with 0 problems. It happens very seldom but does happen. Had a problem with a Sigma 85 1.4 for instance. Can't say the same thing about "other" places. That's why I just stick with then anymore.
Recommend you look at used. Try keh.com and see what they have also check Adorama.com. You can usually buy good used glass for 20% to 50% new (even sale) prices. Just make sure you carefully read their rating system.
Like Amazon, Walmart has become a portal for many other sellers. I shop Amazon all the time, but only if the item is listed as "Sold and Shipped by Amazon". If I was shopping online at Walmart I would stick to those same guidelines.
Sometimes a reputable dealer sells through Amazon or Walmart. If that's the case I go directly to that dealer. No need that I can see for having a middleman.

The lens at Walmart may be a returned and repackaged item. I've got some very good deals on such things over the years.

Probably a grey market lens.
However seeing how I once worked at a Walmart store unloading the trucks of merchandise I would recommend extreme caution when you purchase anything expensive or delicate from a Walmart store.
Typically they have no more than five people unloading the truck and expect it to be done in about two hours. This is possible but it does not allow for careful handling of the product.
In addition the trailers are loaded by item and not generally on pallets but rather crammed in there.
I've seen TV's and computers and other fragile items literally thrown on top of the load due to space or you might find a laptop or camera with a 50lb bag of dog food stacked on top of it.
It MAY be because Walmart is the #1 retailer of just about everything these days, as far as brick and mortar. Amazon may move more of some items than Walmart online, who knows? Anyway, any buyer that is buying 10 or 20 thousand of something is going to get the best prices possible. It's only good business to do so.
As long as it's a NEW unopened unit, with a USA warranty on it..then you might want to give it a shot. I have never bought anything from Walmart that they refused to give a refund on that was damaged in any way. Usually they don't even ask why in my area.
Good luck!
