I love the pose. I love the tats, not to gaudy for the space they are in. I also love the fact that your model is not afraid that she might be body shamed. All body shapes are beautiful.

When I see presentations here, my thoughts lean toward, the photographically aspects, e.g., lighting composition and those things applicable to photography. Much of the commentary relative to women with tattoos is that they do not belong in this setting. One's beliefs about a like or dislike for tattooed women lends nothing (MHO) to advancing photography skills.

The subject matter is always a consideration when discussing photographic skills. I simply think that you are taking a personal afront to negative comments regarding ink and steel displayed on a model. To that point, Joel Peter Witkin may possess incredible photographic skills, but his subject matter will, more than likely, shy people away from discussing those skills due to the subject matter of a good deal of his photographs. If there is a subject matter within the photograph which many find distasteful, the skills of the photographer, and possibly the attractiveness of the photograph will tend to guide people away from the skills of the photographer and more towards the distracting factors displayed. So, you can argue all you wish with regard to what a person does with their body. The fact that if they do something out of the norm, that feature will be the focus of the discussion and overwhelm any photographic skills displayed.

My "afront" is not personal. What we have (MHO) is a discussion, intelligent, on an opinion difference. In your case, it's presented with intelligent prose. At this juncture we disagree. However, I conclude this "banter" with profound respect for the manner you choose to present your antithesis to mine.

Agreed. A photo does not reflect a person's entirety. IMHO the woman depicted here is a beautiful human being. Or at least that is what is projected. As for tats and piercings. Personal choice. As a photographer I could care less what a person places on themselves if I am photographing it I want the photo to be technically good and pleasing to the eye or disturbing to the eye based on what the subject is.

I used to be totally against tats on anything. When my Dad died, the circumstances were so traumatic that I went out and got a tattoo of a small heart with a circle around it and line through it. In small letters is says NO CODE. Does that make me any less of a person? I think not.

I am always amused at those who will stand in a stark gallery staring at photographs on a drab wall, yet are so against art being displayed permanently on the human body.

As for the photo for me it is not the tattoos or piercings that are distracting but those two small portions of whatever beneath the nipples. Otherwise tantalizing photo.

Would bet for most of us, if we are being honest, the first thing our eyes centered on in the photo were the Tat's. If that was the photographers goal, then Success. If not, . . . .

Nothing wrong with tattoos on a woman and she is a beautiful woman at that

An extremely interesting diversified response array to this photo. As the photographer. I was well aware of the ink and hardware displayed on my client's body. However, neither gave me reason to not accept this client.
If I were viewing this image presented by another photographer, although I see the ink and metal, neither would be the first to draw my photographic opinion. That is the way I was taught over a half century ago. I continue to believe personal opinions about anything other than the photography elements presented serve no purpose to advance photography skills.

I love the slight smile playing on her lips, and the sultry look in her eyes. Great picture of an absolutely beautiful woman.
