When viewing my posted images on Flickr, they appear small when viewing them on my 4k tv. Even my 16:9 images fail to fill the screen. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Check with Paul Sager (CHG-CANON) he is the flickr expert.

In your Flickr settings, check the sharing size under Privacy & Permissions. Your 4K TV is probably at or around 3840x2160pixels.

So, if your Flickr images are 'small' when displayed from the site onto your 4K UHD TV, check the following:

1. What are the pixel dimensions of the TV?
2. What are the pixel dimensions of the images you post to Flickr?
3. What is the share-size maximum setting for your account on Flickr?

Make adjustments where necessary.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. Knee jerk response to point#3: It could be that since I'm not a paying customer, I may not have the privilege of posting a screen filling image:/

Your images need to have a resolution of at least 4096 x 2160 px - if they aren't, they will not fill the screen. In the case of panoramas, you will still need a minimum of 4096 px to fill the screen horizontally.

Thanks for the reply. The majority of my images are 4928×3264.

My share size is maxed at the default best available of 2048 pixels. It is a free account BTW. My tv is 4k ultra HD and most of my posted images are 4928×3264.

The comments on Flickr about the selections indicate the 'best display size' is currently maxed to 2048. I have both a paid and free account. The comment is the same for both account types.

Hmmm. Ok. I use Flickr on two different TV's. The 4k set is through the built-in Roku. My other tv uses a Roku streaming stick and the display is 1080p. The images on the 1080p set fill the screen and almost seem oversized.

Wouldn't surprise me if Flickr cannot detect the true screen size after a hop, skip and jump to get there. If you update your profile to specifically 2048 (or another size), what happens?

But, as Paul has indicated, Flickr downsamples the images to 2048 on the longest side, so I think you may be out of luck on this.

Well, Flickr just announced support for 6K displays. They've tripled the resolution from 2048px to 6144px.

Only open to Flickr Pro subscribers, and it applies to newly uploaded images as well as previously loaded ones.

It starts next week.

When I view the Flickr photo stream from images posted by other subscribers, I see full screen pics as well as much smaller ones similar to mine. I don't know:/
