Not very efficient - only 6 volts AC at a few hundred milliamps. Also wear out your sidewalls.

I remember using a playing card and a clothes pins putting it on the side of my bike frame back wheel and going for a bike ride. Then when the card was shot replace it with a new one. Playing cards we cheap in the mid 60's like around a quarter or even a dime a deck. These would last maybe all summer long. All depends how much riding we would do.

I suspect many - we seem to be an "older" crowd. I stole this from a Facebook post. I thought it might jog some enjoyable memories. It did for me.

Seems that two different topics are going here.
You show a generator. The balloons and playing cards were noisemakers.
Does anyone remember the siren that mounted on the wheel?
I had one and caught hell for the noise it made, which was counter-productive. I used it more, till it mysteriously got broken.
And we SEEM to be an older crowd?
