This lens is pristine. No discernible wear and not even broken in yet. It's nice, and it produces sharp images.

Prospective buyers will encounter the occasional
reviewer expecting $1500 optics in an affordable
gem. Such reviewers' geekish complaints cannot
prevent this zoom lens from "punching above its
weight". Here's a coupla samples shot at 300mm
and at the close focus limit. The OIS is verrrrrry
effective .... this is early morning light and since
I usually never get up before noon, it's not my
steady hands time of day !
I cannot speak for its AF tracking speed, as I do
not shoot BIFs, foosball, etc with it. But as to its
ability to render images [max zoom, max close
focus limit, effective IS], check the downloads :-)

I always get a chuckle out of your choice of screen names.
Aw Crap! Where were you when I was paying Canon $300 to get mine repaired?
