Not sure about your printer but wireless printers in the past were made with pretty inexpensive wireless cards. Get a good USB cable (usually called an A/B type) and your problem will probably go away. They don't cost much. If you like Amazon or New Egg under $10 for a long one and they deliver.

I've had a problem similar to yours when I moved away from the original picture while the file was being sent to the printer. Try printing again, and check the progress bar for completion before starting to print the next file.

And, *yes* the canon takes its time to receive and start the print, but it is definitely the best and most reliable one out there - in my not so humble opinion!

The first thing to try is to reboot everything - laptop (or phone), printer and router (just unplug for 30 sec.)

I had a very similar problem with my Epson Artisan 1430 - unfortunately while I was attempting to print 11x14 and 13x19. Really p***ed me off since the paper is not cheap and the amount of ink that I wasted. I never could pin down whether the problem was my router dropping my Wi-Fi or the wireless card/chips in the printer. This was when the printer was only about 18 months old.

Switching to using a USB cable instead of wireless has been completely without trouble over the past few years and I recommend it as one less potential point of failure. It is faster than the wireless, too.

Hi. I had the same printer and it developed the same problem. I tried to fix mine but couldn't. I had worked on office equipment for many years. These are disposable printers. For the most part, if it isn't a paper or ink problem and it's out of warranty, trade it in on a new one at Staples. If you do a lot of color printing, get one of the new models, Epson or Brother, with the large ink tanks. Cost of ink drops dramatically. Good luck.

I have experienced the same problem. Power cycling your WiFi Router clears up communication errors. Similar to your computer slowing down after being on for a long period. Reboot clears thecob webs. Best of luck to you.

I hope the next time you call Canon, you get a more knowledgeable tech. The signal being transmitted over USB is digital and has zero to do with line voltage fluctuations, and what exactly is Wi_Fi cable? (an oxymoron).

Wrong my friend , pro installers for Canon that came with the the printer for installation who are trained in repair and setup of these printers and Canon technical support , repair techs trained in high end printers like mine all confirmed the shielding on usb is no match for ethernet cable or wi-fi they told me even my air conditioner or my computer can create interference I even need to get a UPS to stop line voltage fluctuations because the 24 volt circuits are sensitive to line voltage and can cause damage to the mother board on the printer and other systems and since my 3 year warranty does not cover outside surges and or electrical changes I think I shall side with them this time a $4,000.00 printer is nothing to take chances with.Oh and I was referring to the ethernet cable coming and going from my wi-fi router if you must get technical oxymoron my ass...

I wasn’t critiquing you, so no need to take it personally or defend this mistaken/misquoted information. Let me put this as nicely as possible - check your facts. There are no “24 volt circuits” in either USB or Ethernet - Google the specs and check the voltage levels. Next, either Google CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet (or cut one open) and let me know if you see any shielding. And finally Ethernet cable and WIFi are mutually exclusive terms. Are there variations and spikes in AC line voltage? Sure. Is a UPS/line conditioner a good idea? Yes. Do home appliances create enough RF noise to potentially interfere with WI_FI. Unlikely, since the WI_FI is in the GHZ range and the noise is likely MUCH lower in frequency. Do professional data centers run Ethernet/Cat5/CAT6 cables right next to power cables? All the time. Sadly there are poorly or minimally educated support personnel or techs that are so specialized or computer literate techs that know nothing about electronics in every industry that repeat myths that they have heard without actually understanding the underlying principals.

Apparently you also cannot read "IN MY PRINTER" NOT MY ROUTER I said there are 24 volt circuits , 24 volt motors and other various fans How do I know he is right ? I have scrapped 2 Ipf 8300 printers . And I do believe these pros who have trained in repair and set up of comercial printers KNOW WAY WAY WAY MORE THAN YOU EVER WILL about these new printers so quit commenting on something you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT I myself have studied and researched my Ipf 8300 that I have used for 8 years I have taken apart 2 of these printers and mined them for spare parts before I got this new printer I KNOW WHATS INSIDE THEM, YOU DO NOT !.....go tag along on someone else's feed or I got it start your own topic ..I am tired of sparing with someone...who can't read . This new printer is a state of the art Canon PRO 4000 ,perhaps you should read about it and you can learn more me about this amazing printer and I may even listen to you . It just got here one week ago...And one more thing I inferred that cat6 cables had better shielding than USB so yes I know they run CAT6 cables with other cables all time again read what I said .... !!!!!!!!!

Well, let’s just stop here. If you really believe that interference from appliances is “leaking” into the signal path over a USB or Ethernet cable and causing print errors, then I obviously cannot tell you anything since you know all about RF and high speed data transmission. Perhaps you could get out your spectrum analyzer and data analyzer (you do have one and know how to use it, don’t you?) and take a look at the signals for yourself. In the interim, your “information” is doing nothing to help the OP solve the problem, and you’re not helping matters suggesting these might be the problem.

my printer stops printing in the middle of a photo print. It's very frustrating, time consuming and it wasting a lot of ink and paper. Additional info

Epson workforce 845
Epson inks and paper
paper type set correctly in printer properties and ink not low
stops in random places
has happened using Cox, Comcast, and Verizon internet providers
printing wirelessly; don't have cable for wired printing and work space cant accommodate it
Have talked to Epson. All they do is have me uninstall/reinstall drivers, which are current
Happens from various software, LR CC and On1
happens on 8 x 10 as well as 5 x 7

does not happen when printing word documents even if they have images
has happened on both my laptop and my desktop

sometimes I have just let the printer sit and it will eventually complete printing. recently it has been ejecting the unfinished print

sometimes get "connection error" in print queue status. This current time it just shows error printing. I have to delete the image from the print queue. I don't submit other prints until the current one is finished.

it happens randomly. this morning and last night I successfully printed an entire 8 x 10, the next two stopped

I have extensively googled and researched and not found any answers.

I have to get these images printed and prefer to do them at home. That's why I have a printer.

images attached

Deeply appreciative of any suggestions. I don't know if it is a buffer or spooler problem as I am not that knowledgeable about those though I have read about temp file being filled. I checked mine last night, it was empty after printing.

Thanks,
Kathy

I have not read ALL of the responses...so forgive me if I am repetitive....since you are printing wirelessly...are you near your router? or is in it in an area not close to your workspace? If so, you might need a signal booster. I ran into this problem, when we bought a ROKU for our television. It uses more bandwidth...and we do have a new router...however it is on a shelf in another room...I bought a booster from LinkSys and it has seems to have solved any connection/signal problems.
In addition...when you are preping a photo for printing...are you saving it before sending it to the printer?

good luck !

And you are not an expert....and I never said that I was I believe Canon developers I have been working with , know better than you ....and again read what I said I DID NOT SAY THERE WAS LEAKING IN ETHERNET CABLES I said leaking in USB cables ... it is the ethernet cables they said were better or Wi-fi itself .At this time the speed of transfer is slower with wi-fi than with direct cable connections....and way to slow for me using 500mb and 800mb 16bit files .

I repaired copiers for 20 years. Not sure whats going on. but could be they type of paper you are using. or rollers getting worn down, causing it to slip and the timing is then off. if you try a different type of paper' not so glossy might help. good luck. love my Epson printer.

I found this about Photoshop but would expect it to be the same for Lightroom as they are both Adobe. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.html

Hey, lonedog, have you figured out (solved) the issue yet? Kinda curious!
