Pleiades Star Cluster

Here is a shot of the Pleiades star cluster I shot last night. This is a stack of 20 images, each 3 minutes long. The Image was taken with a full frame canon DSLR with the ISO set to 1600 and using 500mm F4.0 canon lens. Below is the full frame view, followed by a slightly cropped view to center and enlarge the cluster. The Pleiades (also known as the seven sisters) is a young cluster still embedded in the nebula that created the stars. The cluster is estimated to be 424 light years from earth.

Yep. With the naked eye most people can see 7 in dark skies (which I believe is how it got its name). There are actually hundreds of stars in the clusters. The nebula surrounding the stars is not visible without optical aid.
