The secret to success is to know where to buy your mirrorless camera.

Which is why DSLR's are better.

Will you even recognize the person you were before you changed to a mirrorless camera?

I don't even recognize myself now, since I am thinking about it!

When you get paid by mfg's to promote their newest and latest tech., you have sold your soul.
The mfg's don't have him by the sneakers, they have him by the $$$$

Wrong, Jared is a longtime Nikon SLR and DSLR shooter and not beholden to any brand. He has used and tested them all, but they don't pay him at all. He makes money from youtube with over 1 million subscribers, plus his books and video tutorial sales. He goes on junkets from all brands, so that is the extent to which he takes anything from them. They loan him gear to try out, not give it to him. He buys what he keeps to use.

He makes some valid points. IMHO DSLRs will hang around as long as folks buy them, but DSLR sales have dropped over 50% in the past year and camera makers are spending their development money on mirrorless gear as that is where the shrinking camera market has gone. So maybe not dead completely, but DSLRs will never dominate again, such is progress. BTW I was a SLR and DSLR pro user for over 40 years before moving to mirrorless. I would never think of going backwards, the best mirrorless are just superior IMHO. Cheers

Successful photographers don't focus on their mistakes. They discard their old equipment and buy something new.

The junkets, loaner gear, etc. aren't payment? I don't get them, do you?
I have seen him change his tune regarding eq., from video to video.

MILC are like the iPad and other Tablets. The quality of computers and DSLR's reach a level that was so high, no one was buying new. To further the issue, cell phones were eating big time into the point and shoot market.
Camera and computer mfg's needed something to get us to buy new. It does them no good for us to keep our gear for 3,5,10 years or more.

Enter tablets and MILC. New, whiz bang tech.
OOPS, now the tablets have reached saturation. What's next there. Don't tell anyone, but laptop mfg's. are going to switch to ARM processors and OS makers, Apple and M$, will accommodate this. The benefit will be multi day battery length. We will all buy one.

I suspect MILC will reach the same saturation point before long, then something else new will come out.

I don't claim to know what "professionals" will do or need as I am not one.
I do know Canon has been big time into Professional Movie and Cinema gear. They are keeping their "niche" Professional Gear separate from the craziness of the consumer market.

I also know they are trying desperately to fend off the cell phone camera.

For me, I don't like the feel of MILC in my hands and will keep with my DSLR's for a while. 20 to 24 MP is plenty for me. The current DSLR gear is better than I am.

How do you know you're not a successful photographer until you've used a mirrorless camera?

If my camera's mirror gets stuck in the up position, does that make me a mirrorless photographer?

Yep, sometimes it looks that way, but remember it still has to be mowed.

Shoot the messenger and ignore the message. What could a 'Jared' know anyways?

The message is meaningless and the messenger looks suspicious so shoot first ask question later.

We have no idea about the future of energy and cars. Building an electric car battery requires 500 tons of excavation, they are currently an ecological disaster. Gas vs electric, I choose neither for the environment. Hydrogen or magnetic tracks? Intriguing. Same with mirrorless and DSLR. Why do you have to be in one camp or another. I like the large glass and light capture of my D850. I like my light weight 4/3 with some great glass as well. I’ve used a full frame DSLR and a micro 4/3 for 8 yrs.

I'll assume you were addressing my post.
Yup ... electric cars are an environmental disaster. But that's not germane to the context at hand.
It's what drives the market ...and electric cars are starting to ... drive the market.
China ... probably the last convert is now investing heavily into electric vehicles.
Why? They don't have to domestically ... but they want to sell overseas ... and they can read the business tea leaves.

So ironically, what politics could not achieve with China ... capitalism is taking care of it (carbon)
Very ironic actually.

Btw ... your 850 doesn't take in any more light than any other FF camera .... mirrorless or DSLR. And there is certainly no shortage of glass for either techs.

But we all know the third party companies are falling over themselves to make mirrorless lenses compared to DSLR.
Wasn't the case just a few years ago ... but it is now.
It's the mirrorless market push which is dominant ... and probably will accelerate...until the next tech breakthrough.
