I am just about finished building a handle to allow me to hold my camera with my right hand. As a result of an accident, very long fall, my elbow is frozen as is my wrist.
My right hand has not been within 12" of my face in 9 years 5 days.
This is intended as a workaround an adaptive device.
The hardware I used is left over from the surgical equipment that was attached outside my arm for 4 -5 months.
I was going to atrach an xray showing all the plates and screws And part of the hardware now used as a handle. But I thought some might be offended.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Looks like you are well on your way.

Necessity is frequently the mother of kluges, but this looks pretty good.

Offended !?? I'd love to see the x-ray -- if someone is offended this isn't the group to belong to.
I love your design, and motivation.

Happy for you and your drive to find a way .... I also suffered a long fall off of a mountain in NZ and as a result have an arm full of metal plates aa d screws. 285 feet - lucky to be alive and walking. My arm bends but will not go straight. I have transitioned to mirrorless as a result. Good luck.
Good for you. Ya do what cha gotta do.

No offense taken.....I've seen about every possible horror show there is in life. And good luck to you for your devotion to your craft. Your spirit is admirable and a model for the many who never knew a handicap.
Nice reasonable accommodation.

Offended by WHAT? X-rays of hardware? Your arm? I don't know where your concern lies.
You might find better balance mounting to the lens tripod ring instead, while using a longer telephoto that provides one.
You appear to be using an Arca-Swiss QR plate on the camera and a corresponding platform on the "handle" assembly, so all you'd need would be a lens plate to be able to mount to the tripod ring. You'll need to rotate the A-S mounting platform 90 degrees to use with a lens plate, but other than that is should work great.
I can't tell what type of A-S plate you have mounted on the camera. I've had trouble with "generic" ones allowing the camera to rotate from it's own weight, especially when using it with larger lenses. I wasn't willing to tighten the mounting bolt any further, out of fear of damaging the camera. But for many camera models there are custom A-S plates with anti-rotation feature built in. Maybe that's what you're using... but if not it's something you might find necessary. They are a little more expensive than generic A-S mounting plates, but do the trick. I use them on all my cameras.

Good work! Hope it helps you enjoy your camera to the max.
X-rays don't offend me, but, those darn X-ray glasses that I sent away for as a kid, the ones that didn't work, now, that offended me! The plans I had for them!

Thanks for the kind words.
As for the x-ray. Images of screws in bones and shattered bones gross some folks out. And cause some to freek out. I dont want to cause anyone emotional discomfort if I can avoid it. But Im happy to share the picture of x-ray non publicly.
Anyone who would like to see the x-ray picture just say so and Ill send.it along in a PM.
