Saving Pandora

I listen to music from the 1950s on my Internet radio when I'm home, and I listen to the same thing on XM in the car. The problem is that my XM radio occasionally says it doesn't have an antenna signal. That's when I switch to USB. Yesterday, while I was on the computer, I recorded Pandora for a little over three hours. I used WavePad and Audacity to edit the recording and put it onto a tiny flash drive. Now I have over three hours of 1950s music for when the XM cuts out.

Free PC Audio Recorder (free), WavePad, and Audacity (free) make it easy to record and edit audio playing on your PC.

I have been using Pandora for over a year, playing it for my invalid wife every evening.
I have been using an Apple Mini i-pad and remote CANZ speaker.
It suddenly will not load or play saying that this device can no longer accommodate or support Pandora, or similar words?
What happened?
My operating system is iOS 9.3.5 and listed as current.

Pandora works fine on my full size i-Pad.
Any help will be appreciated.

It sounds like Apple has put Pandora on its "Bad" list.

EDIT: You need the special app to play Pandora on an iPad.

When I got a new car it came with Sirius and Pandora. I tried them for a while but in wooded or hilly areas the car would not hold the signal well.

I just loaded my iPhone with music and play that through the bluetooth adapter on the radio. I have about 3 days worth of music on the phone now. I don't take trips that long so I rarely have to repeat anything unless I want to.

I too use an iPhone Bluetooth connection for my music in the car. My phone has about 400 CDs permanently downloaded and ICloud access to the rest of the library. My wife and I used my iPhone with a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker on an 8 day boat ride in SE Alaska and never heard the same tune twice.

On I-90 in Massachusetts there are some hilly areas toward the western end of the state. Heading west in my wife's car (I don't have XM in mine) I found some good Jazz channels, making my trip seem shorter. In a couple places there are tall rock cliffs on the south side of the road, where the XM would instantly cut out as soon as the view toward the southern sky was blocked. Bridges, too, would cause a momentary dropout.

As an engineer, I'm surprised they don't "buffer" a few seconds of the signal to cover any momentary dropouts. A large part of a minute, from the cliffs, for instance, would take a lot more memory...

Jerry - if you're using a phone or tablet, you can also set Pandora to offline mode and it will play selections from 3 or 4 of your favorite stations without going online (no data usage).

I have been using Pandora for several years and have no plans to switch. I also have many old CDs that I have ripped and put on my iPhone and can play them through my cars' system.

I suggest you google IOS 9.3.5 Mini IPad From what I've read the earl minis cannot be updated past 9.3.5 That kinda sucks but it is probably why you cannot use a Pandora.

If you have a Sirius account you very likely can have internet access. At the very worst a small upcharge will add this feature to you account. I am listing now to Sirius on my desktop computer.

Satellite radio services broadcast from orbit. The transmitter power is necessarily rather low and the propagation mode is line-of-sight. Your antenna must be able to see the satellite. Mountains and dense vegetation will block the signal. Your radio has a buffer that is a few seconds long so that small interruptions are not noticed. If you use a Sirius radio at home a tall tower might allow better reception but I am not aware of canned solutions for this problem.

My old home in CT was a cellular free zone as are many places in the west. Even my home here in PA has marginal cellular service. Satellites are better in such conditions. There are even Satellite phones for use in remote areas.

All this is just radio physics.
