I call it cellphonese. Initials in place of words to save the sender time, but wastes the receivers time trying to interpret them.
It also hides unacceptable expletives.

I think kids like txt-ing because it saves them the bother of having to spell properly. I hope kids in the US get taught spelling better than they do in the UK. We used to have to memorise stuff out of spelling books, but someone has decided that it would be too much for the poor wee souls.

Is Ocoee where the bouncy swamps are?

So we can't blame it all on the kids? Damn, I was enjoying doing that. Can we blame it on young adults instead?

I vote blame on the kids! I always blame on the kids or husband! ;)

I agree with you, I have to use that website so I can understand what my grand kids are talking about. Every time one of them sends me a message I have to ask if they are doing ok in school, and I'm never really sure.

I just tell my boy that uses this to call me on the talking part of his phone service. The other two are 50 48 so they are no better off than me.

Oh I am with you. As a 50+ member I appreciate my education and respond appropriately with it to texts from my kids. I have learned the basics of "textish" just so I can understand my kid's texts to me however. They probably get annoyed with my lengthy responses with everything actually typed out completely. I call that payback
