That should keep him going for a while!
A potential plague stopper. Is this a corn snake?
I was always very happy to the the Garter snakes around the house and barn because we were loaded with voles and mice. The voles had made a mess of our lawn from tunneling under the snow for Japanese beetle grubs and of course, if you have horses, you are going to have mice. I see that your snake is taking care of a vole. You were there at the right time to get that great shot.

Man !....that's a Mouth-Full
Sorry but I only find it gross. This is a snapshot IMHO.
Great action shot even though it is a slow action.
Rab-Eye thinks it is a snapshot but its a good one...
Wonder if he has a gag reflex?

Agreed it's a snapshot but it is a depiction of reality

No it's a garter snake. Not poisonous or harmful to humans
With out a closer view, I would believe this is a bull snake.
A birthday card for someone I know.
I too think it looks like a bull snake, gopher snake, whatever. That's a rat, isn't it? Seems too large for a garter snake's meal, but WHATEVER. It's a shot of a natural event, not gross. I've seen human beings chowing down on samples handed out at Walmart and they're way grosser than this snake, stuffing their mouths so full that globs of food fall out. I don't see this snake taking handouts or wasting one bit of its meal.
