Actually having a phone forum would be helpful, both for those interested, and those emphatically disinterested. Subscribe or don't.

How so? Would there be greater benefit over using the Gallery and General Discussion forums?

Purists. They wouldn't ever consider shooting video with their "real" cameras either. I don't get it.

Here's a nicely composed image my daughter just sent me from Slovenia this morning. Can you tell whether it came from an iPhone or not?

Provide an appreciative audience for those interested, and choice for those who are not.

It can be appreciated equally as well in Gallery or Discussion also.

I find the majority of people take "Snapshots" of vacations, family gatherings, etc. They also seem to want to share them on Social Media instantly. That's where cell phone picture shine, but even then most don't even use the full potential of what they can do.
I've simplified my equipment but still will always have a good camera along for the type of pictures I want to be able to display on a 65" TV.

What kind of study did you do to determine what the majority of people photograph? And you even know what most people don't do. You must know my good friend.

Boys, in case you didn't notice, the OP already announced he's through with us

In this thread I've twice posted the link to how to create a new section. A simple matter of someone volunteering to moderate.

Depends on the title.
I don't view what I'm not interested in viewing.
(I open a lot of stuff that turns out to be a non-interest item because of poor selection of words for a title.)

Would anyone be interested in starting a section for cell phone camera picture posting and tips? I am purchasing a Galaxy Note 10+(next month my lease on current phone doesnt expire until then) and will not have a clue on how to use it. I currently have a S9 and that also takes excellent pics.

This is going to stir the pot.
I have no problem with anyone wanting to share an image they have created with a mobile phone; my issue is calling it a camera. The meaning of words is important and we should try to know the meaning of them before just saying what we think they mean.
Merriam- Webster -Definition of camera: a device that consists of a lightproof chamber with an aperture fitted with a lens and a shutter through which the image of an object is projected onto a surface for recording (as on a photosensitive film or an electronic sensor) or for translation into electrical impulses (as for television broadcast).
Mobile phones scan the image much like a scanner. If you have ever watched a video of an airplane propeller taken with a mobile phone that is why the propeller looks bent.
I am not even sure how mirrorless fits into this, Is there a lightproof chamber?
Or should the definition be changed?

Well, it's not a hippopotamus.

Or not be so literal?

But the conversation continues.....

Like when someone says they made a decision on what camera to purchase,
and still get 27 more recommendations.

Better to stir the pot than let it burn.

Electronic shutters in mirrorless cameras scan the image. Definitions need to change over time.
Having an issue with calling the camera in a cell phone a camera is a personal dilemma you might just have to live with.
