My wife's D7500 (9 mos. old) has been burning through batteries. She has been getting less than 300 shots per charge. I have tested her batteries in my D850 and they are fine. She does not use live view, uses single shot and I have gone through her menus to insure that there is nothing unusual turned on to use battery power. Before I send it back to Nikon, I am interested to know if any Hogs have encountered this problem.
I wonder if there is something that can be left on that depletes the battery like a dome light in an automobile. I have a Pentax K-3 and it also burns through charges on it's battery(s). 8x faster than any of my other Pentax cameras, including the K-5 that it can share batteries with. I have four of those batteries. The K-20D and K-100D each use different sorts of battery. But only my K-3 seems to be an energy hog even when shut off. I'm sure you will hear from other D7500 owners soon.
