Recall Alert: Nikon SLR Battery Packs

According to PC World Magazine, Nikon is recalling its EN-EL15 rechargeable lithium ion battery packs sold with Nikon D800 and D7000. Burn Hazard.

EN-EL15 spec "7.0V 1900mah 14Wh" Batteries with a E or F in the ninth character of the 14 digit lot number printed on the battery.

You should contact Nikon if you have a D800 or D7000 for more information.

This is 6 month old information, no idea why it is recirculating again. Nikon has free replacement programs for these batteries and the recal was limited to very specific production batteries.

I think Canon is keeping that news alive - just to be neighborly. :D

It may be old but its still valid. The batteries are still out there, and probably still being sold.
