A Fair, Impartial Judge (Humor)

This from “The Legionnaire” magazine. I think he indeed is impartial.

The judge entered the courtroom and started the proceedings. “Before this process starts in earnest, there is something I must clear up,” he said. “The plaintiff gave me $10,000 so I would rule in his favor. The defendant gave me $12,000 so I would rule in his favor. To make sure this case is fair and impartial, I am hereby returning $2,000 to the defendant.”

Seems fair and impartial to me.

Come on, this isn't a real-world example! A REAL judge would take the money from both parties, then recuse himself!

Uh-hh- no that's not fair. He rules for the plaintiff and gets $10,000, returns only $2000 to the defendant and keeps $10,000 so he gets $20,000? What did the defendant get for his $10,000?

He should have asked for $2000 more from the plaintiff.
