I have an F4S too but it doesn't rewind. I think the clutch slips as I hear the motor running but not rewinding.

I went back to my roots this weekend I received a NikonF4S from my friendly Fed Ex driver. As soon as I opened the box I was in heaven. I am currently shooting a roll of Fuji 200 to test the camera I want to put it thru the ringer like I did in the 70s with my canon F1 I had back than I changed to Nikon at the end of 90s. After the prints are processed I will post the here. I’m very excited because this is what I know I’m not computer smart. I hope all this makes sense I roaring to get eeeeerrrrr done

I used the Nikon F4s for wedding photography for years. Loved the Ergonomics of that particular Nikon body. Many firsts were built into that camera.
I know what you are going through, just got a Nikon D5 with a 0 shutter count for $3500.00 last week. I am in haven again.

I still have my F4S. Cosmetically it's not what it one was, but functionally it is perfect. It's the .44 magnum of film cameras, big, heavy, fast, and indestructible. When I'm not concerned about carry weight, it is my back up camera.

It's great to hear your spirit about those cameras and they still are remarkable devices. Good luck with your adventures.

Sounds like fun. Of the cameras I use, I have 5 Digital ones, but I still own, let me count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 - Nine film cameras with formats of 35mm to 4x5".

Reading all of these make me home sick. Love nothing more than spending hours in the darkroom.

I will be honest. I knew too many friends who died from Cancer from working long hours in a darkroom. I do not miss it. It has been replaced with post processing. I can breath clean air now while I work. And, I am no longer in the dark.

My first real camera was a Nikon F FTN in 1969. I sold it all about 10 years later to buy a Pentax 6x7 which I still have and use. My MF collection has grown over the years to also include a 1953 Rolleicord III and a Bronica ETRSi. I have a good collection of lenses for both the Bronica and the Pentax. I’ve used various 35s over the years including OM2 and OM10 but a few years ago I picked up a Nikon FE at an auction. Great light weight used mostly fully manually. Just treated myself to a used but mint Nikon F6 and am sending out my first roll of Ektachrome to TheDarkroom in San Clemente. My only digital is my D7100.
