I found this Cicada while letting the dogs out for their final nightly duties and convinced it pose for some focus stacking sessions and to reside in my collection of other subjects.
They are fairly large insects, about the size of my thumb, so I used a 1:1 setting for this session with the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Super Macro lens. The lighting was diffused through translucent plastic and illuminated from multiple directions to provide a soft light.
I placed a piece of colored gradient paper behind the staging to create the pastel background. This image is composed of 168 images processed into one using Zerene Stacker.
As always thanks to all who view and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.
Well done - nice background!
