You rent the huts to keep your deck chairs and other beach items in, and for changing into swim suit, the panel on the front is normally a lift up

general rules are no overnight stays, no noise, etc etc. anyone stepping out of line is soon brought to book...
a very odd slice of british culture - certain resorts are near impossible to buy one, & huts are passed down through the family.
the 'pitch' is only leased from the local council, and some are very short-leased... almost a gentleman's agreement

(nearly forgot - the beach hut shot is my fave! - good stuff Steve)
